A showreel should be around 3-5 minutes in length: the shorter the better, because industry professionals are very busy.
Choose short scenes which demonstrate your versatility. A range of emotions in snappy scenes will sell your talent far more effectively than a couple of drawn out story lines.
It is very useful to write down the time codes for the scenes you wish to use, to enable the exact timing of scene to be included into the final reel.
If you would like to choose your music, remember it should not interfere with your scenes – it’s a backing track!
It's good to have something upbeat as it works much better with scene snap shots and keeps the reel moving forward.
Extra Music

For example, if there is a scene where your character is crying over a grave stone... it will inevitably help the scene by adding a gentle melody to the drama for an instant emotional impact.
